How long LegitScript certification takes for GLP-1 telehealth brands

No official figure says how long LegitScript certification takes. LegitScript’s guide promises screening within 2 business days of submission, followed by an analyst queue with no stated wait. In LegitScript’s June 19, 2026 Q&A, White Label MD said a prepared clinic’s review “typically runs about two weeks” and that most clinics take 3 or 4 months.

Process checked on October 24, 2026.

LegitScript’s official review deadlines

LegitScript puts two time commitments in writing, and neither is the length of the review. Its step-by-step guide (uploaded January 2026) says each application is “screened by our Client Relations team within the first two business days of its submission,” then waits for “a Certification analyst to pick up as soon as they are available.” The second commitment is paid: LegitScript’s Healthcare Certification page offers “$2500 per application for expedited processing and to have their application review started within 2 business days of submission.”

LegitScript certification timeline, stage by stage

Mapped from LegitScript’s guide and its portal screenshots, an application moves through seven stages. You control the clock on four, and only screening has a published deadline.

Why LegitScript timelines online range from 2 weeks to 4 months

The timing figures online measure different things: the review alone, the queue, or a partner’s faster route.

SourceDateClaimWhat it measures
White Label MD, in LegitScript’s Q&AJune 19, 2026“about two weeks” if prepared; most clinics “three or four months”Review time vs. deficiency back-and-forth
MD IntegrationsSeptember 1, 2026Standard wait “can be 4-6 weeks before work begins”Queue, from a LegitScript partner
CorepayMay 20, 2026“2 to 4 months”; “as little as 3 weeks” through CorepayTotal time, plus a partner claim

White Label MD explains the spread: “The reason most clinics take three or four months isn’t the review itself; it’s the back-and-forth of deficiency notices when they applied before they were ready.”

Demand for review is growing. ppc.land reported on September 25, 2026 that, per a LegitScript release of September 22, applications for telemedicine certification rose 101% in a year.

What speeds a GLP-1 application up and what stalls it

Complete documents, a vetted pharmacy, full disclosure and a live site speed a GLP-1 application up. Every common holdup in LegitScript’s guide sits in the applicant’s own file.

Is expedited LegitScript review worth $2,500?

Expedited LegitScript review is worth $2,500 only when your file is complete and the queue is the last wait. It starts the review sooner, and nothing LegitScript publishes says it makes the review shorter: the guide calls it a way to “prioritize the start of your application’s review.”

With documents missing or the pharmacy unvetted, you just get your deficiency notices sooner. The fee math is on our LegitScript cost page.

What you can do while the application is in review

A LegitScript review leaves weeks to prepare everything that has to be ready on approval day:

  • Build the funnel and creative inside the rules, matching what your application describes. Meta’s limits are in Meta’s rules for GLP-1 prescription drug ads.
  • Publish non-prescription education content about how your program works, with no drug offer.
  • Start traffic that needs no Rx ad authorization: comparison sites and content affiliates. GLP1.partners runs both, through our own comparison sites and our affiliate network. Disclose every affiliate in your application. Paid social on Rx offers waits until LegitScript certification and Meta authorization clear.
  • Get the Meta authorization request ready to file: Meta asks for the certified URL, business name and ad accounts (Meta Help Center).

From LegitScript approval to live GLP-1 ads

Meta authorization and Google’s healthcare certification both come after LegitScript approval, and neither platform publishes a review time; the full order is in the LegitScript certification hub. Per LegitScript’s guide, certification also “does not shield your ads from rejection or from account penalties.”

Leave open time between LegitScript approval and launch. White Label MD gives the same advice for LegitScript itself: “Review takes weeks, so we kick it off near the front of the launch.”

LegitScript renewal: the date that can switch your ads off

LegitScript certification is “valid for one year from the date of certification.” The renewal notice typically comes 60 days before expiry, and the guide says renewal is usually faster than the first application. LegitScript’s renewal post (August 6, 2025) says a lapse “would require a new application as well as applicable application fees,” and its pricing page says cancellation ends status immediately.

Meta requires telehealth providers to be “actively certified with LegitScript.” Put the renewal date on the same calendar as your media plan.

FAQ

Can you apply before your GLP-1 website is live?

Yes, with wireframes and a go-live timeline. An incomplete site usually gets preliminary certification, and the seal code comes “only once the conditions of preliminary certification have been met.”

How much does LegitScript certification cost?

$975 per website to apply, $2,150 per website per year for standard certification, and $2,500 per application for expedited review. See the cost page.
