To run a LegitScript lookup, open LegitScript’s “See the Status of a Website” tool and enter one domain. The result shows Certified, Legitimate or a risk label. Each domain needs its own lookup, and LegitScript caps free use at 5 look-ups per week per IP address.

Who a GLP-1 brand should look up before launch
A GLP-1 brand should look up every ad domain and every partner that touches the prescription. LegitScript’s application guide says partner pharmacies “are generally required to be LegitScript-certified or accredited by another recognized body. Be sure to verify whether your partners hold a Certified or Legitimate status before submitting your application.”
| Look up | Status you want | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your main domain | Certified | Meta requires telehealth providers to be “actively certified with LegitScript” |
| Every funnel or lander domain | Certified | “Each domain to be certified requires its own application fee” |
| Partner (fulfillment) pharmacy | Certified or Legitimate | The partner rule quoted above |
| Telemedicine provider or white-label platform | Check, keep a record | LegitScript: “Monitor relationships with partner pharmacies, telemedicine providers, and distributors” |
| Affiliates: the brand’s landing domain | Certified | Rx ads on Meta and Google depend on the brand’s own status |
With several pharmacies and funnel domains, 5 free look-ups a week run out quickly, so spread the checks out. Platforms use LegitScript’s separate Data Lookups product. For each domain you check, pass the reCAPTCHA, click Verify Website and save a dated screenshot of the status for your partner file.
LegitScript’s September 17, 2026 blog says “Certification status can change,” and the guide says: “Inform LegitScript of any changes to your affiliates or partners.” Run a fresh lookup whenever you add one. LegitScript’s certification standards also say affiliates “must comply with all program standards,” so affiliates and partners are held to the same standards as the brand.
LegitScript lookup results vs what Meta and Google accept
Meta accepts only Certified: “Meta requires online pharmacies and telehealth providers to be actively certified with LegitScript.” Google US accepts pharmacies accredited by LegitScript or NABP, and “Google allows telemedicine providers if they’re accredited by LegitScript’s Healthcare Merchant Certification Program.”
| Lookup result | Meta Rx ads (telehealth, pharmacy) | Google US pharmacy | Google US telemedicine |
|---|---|---|---|
| Certified | Accepted, then you “must request authorization from Meta” | Accepted, plus Google certification | Accepted, plus Google certification |
| Legitimate | Not accepted | Only if the accreditation is NABP’s | Not accepted |
| Unverified, Unapproved, Rogue | Not accepted | Not accepted | Not accepted |
Pharmaceutical manufacturers have a second Meta route, “Meta’s internal review process, which doesn’t require a LegitScript certification.” Details are on our Meta prescription drug ads and Google Ads telemedicine certification pages.
What each LegitScript lookup result means
LegitScript’s classifications guide defines the 5 results a lookup can return.
| Result | LegitScript’s wording | For a GLP-1 partner deal |
|---|---|---|
| Certified | “vetted through LegitScript’s rigorous review processes” | Clears the LegitScript step for Meta and Google |
| Legitimate | “not LegitScript-certified, but has received accreditation or certification from other entities that LegitScript recognizes, such as the NABP” | OK for a partner pharmacy, not for a brand on Meta |
| Unverified / Inapplicable | “neutral descriptors and usually denote the absence of an obvious problem” | Not certified, so not enough for Rx ads |
| Unapproved | “some problem with regulatory compliance or risk” | Don’t sign until it’s resolved |
| Rogue | “primary purpose is to engage in some sort of illegal, unsafe, or misleading activity” | Walk away |
LegitScript reports more than 10,000 certified domains and has “classified and reported on more than 140,000 internet pharmacy websites operating outside applicable regulations” (September 17, 2026).
How to tell whether a LegitScript seal is real
A real seal links to the site’s status page, at a URL like legitscript.com/websites/?checker_keywords=yoursite.com. If it goes nowhere, or reads “Legit Script” as two words, run the lookup yourself.
A site can be certified with no seal. The seal is optional, and under preliminary certification, status is “publicly verifiable on LegitScript’s website” but “the certification seal code will be issued only once the conditions of preliminary certification have been met.”
When to run LegitScript lookups
Run lookups before you apply, before you sign a pharmacy or platform, and before an affiliate sends traffic, whether you manage partners yourself or through an affiliate network. If a partner isn’t Certified or Legitimate, it can apply, or you can switch partners. Fees are on our LegitScript cost page and timing is on how long certification takes.
FAQ
LegitScript vs NABP: which lookup for a pharmacy? Check both. LegitScript’s “Legitimate” result covers accreditation from bodies it recognizes, “such as the NABP.” NABP publishes its own Accredited Digital Pharmacies list; its Digital Pharmacy Accreditation is a “3-year accreditation.”
What does “LegitScript verified” mean? Usually that the site shows as Certified in the lookup, which LegitScript calls “the most reliable way” to check.
